About Peppers Ranch

Our History

In 1999, 160 acres in Guthrie Oklahoma was purchased from Charles and Marlene Peppers by our founder Mr. Hal French with the intention and vision to create Peppers Ranch. Mr. French’s goal was to help break the cycle of abuse and neglect and started by developing a long-term residential care facility providing quality, planned care for abused and neglected boys. French modeled Peppers Ranch after Boys Ranch Town, a home established by Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children in 1953. He lived near the home and played with some of its residents while he was a child growing up in Edmond. Peppers Ranch served in the residential care model from 1999 to 2008.

In January of 2006, Peppers Ranch began an extensive study on how the ranch could help more of Oklahoma’s foster children, keep siblings together, create quality family-like settings and stability while maximizing the investment of our donor base. After thoroughly researching other unique models across the country a new vision was birthed. Peppers Ranch became the first foster care community in Oklahoma in early 2009.

With a total of 240 acres at Peppers Ranch and the community’s continued support, our potential for growth is unlimited. Future development plans include additional foster homes with 16 currently, 11,000 square-foot learning center expansion to our current learning center, and continued growth of our support services and programs. Services will continue to be expanded to adequately meet the needs of the additional children and foster parents that call the ranch “home.”

Our Impact

Peppers Ranch Foster Care Community strives to become home to as many of Oklahoma's abused and neglected children as possible. These children, through no fault of their own, have been victimized by the very people who were supposed to love and protect them. By providing the necessary resources and services to foster parents, we sustain a commitment to the children in their care. Our safe and nurturing community will inspire and equip each child to break the cycle, reach their full potential, and become productive citizens of society.
